For Whom THe Bell Tolls |

For whom the bell tolls A foot a rod of measured ground Each are segments that we sail. Some silent, some hurricane bound But all are weighed upon a scale. A journey that a lifetime spills Though most were drab to me it seem Some warm, some hot and some had chills But one slipped passed the state of dream. I can't explain her charm and grace A penny serenade at berth My journey long and steps in place The serenade a pennies worth. But the change rattled these old bones She placed a rose upon my ear With subliminal over tones. That gripped my heart in happy fear. A cord that ends a knot with she And never in my wildest gleam Did I expect this ecstasy By thoughts that stepped from out a dream. I gave impossible a boost Built her castles within each nod And feathered out a dreamers roost And tried to stay this side of God. By that I meant I wanted both A very human wish at best. And took upon myself an oath That I would stay to stand the test. But time has played a game of rue And placed a notice overdue. |

Oh wow....this grabbed my heart...all the way... and there is very little left to say... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, then speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Hi Sy, Truely amazing, I started to try and pick a favorite line and ended up highlighting the whole poem, this is just simpy true poetry Sy, I mean it. Thank you so much I loved it. Love, Cerenity "God doesn't have to be reminded that we exist. We have to be reminded that He exist!" (Writer Unknown) |

But one slipped passed the state of dream. ================= A cord that ends a knot with she And never in my wildest gleam Did I expect this ecstasy By thoughts that stepped from out a dream. I gave impossible a boost Built her castles within each nod And feathered out a dreamers roost And tried to stay this side of God. By that I meant I wanted both A very human wish at best. And took upon myself an oath That I would stay to stand the test. But time has played a game of rue And placed a notice overdue. ===================== ya know what Sy baby.. the ONLY thing wrong with this poem was the fact that it ended ... I wanted it to go on forever... what an amazing piece of poetic grace this is... "A cord that ends a knot with she And never in my wildest gleam Did I expect this ecstasy By thoughts that stepped from out a dream. I gave impossible a boost Built her castles within each nod And feathered out a dreamers roost And tried to stay this side of God." my oh my ...this is classic Sy... and that is a very good thing. this one goes in my Sy file under HC for heartchimes ... cause it rang mine ... *winkiewinkie* late me grace of rhyme and heart gator me |

Sy, I find the power of your words compelling. I have felt the dilema of "wanting both"... Excellent portrayal here. Michael |
