November After Rain (Rewrite, rename of 12/99 – to celebrate passing 1500 posts) Rusty print of Oak leaves Staining all the pavement Gone the chalk drawn pledges Telling what your heart meant November After Rain Painting hoarfrost on my heart Wily wind of winter Whipping round the park Once we walked in sunshine Swung our arms and laughed Layed in the grass and scheming Aloud our dreams weren't daft Now you've gone and left me Summer's no longer here There's only a bereft me On a ship I cannot steer Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least. ~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe ~ |

Paula- Since I first posted it - it's been a favorite of mine - a composite of the sad thoughts that composed my prior romantic encounters in years past -i guess i like it for the images I was able to make. Thank you. Coco- you zeroed in on why I like it too - Thank you Karilea- you KNOW I love poetic responses  - thank you Seymour- a response from you convinces me i did right in reposting - Thank you so much. OLIAS- the 1st time I posted this -I was critiqued for the ship - told I should have stayed with the fall images - you help me avoid regret Martie- You know I love your poetry - it makes your responses worthy that much more. |

Great title! excellent images... some really fine lines in here. First stanza is perfection: "Rusty print of Oak leaves Staining all the pavement Gone the chalk drawn pledges Telling what your heart meant" and these two lines... excellent: "November After Rain Painting hoarfrost on my heart" thanks for the read... i enjoyed this one very much - all you can ever really ask out of life is a sincere apology and some decent poetry - |
