Sorrow shines on my countenance
and a thousand timbers fall
to rest in kindling passion,
as duty meets the call

Hear the pipes of freedom
ringing in my heart at last
burning with the rhythm of believing
I am worthy of this task

Of finding, learning, and loving you
will you guide me gently home?
for where you are is my harbor
your verse gathers life from stone

You are beauty, intoxicating
fuel to a dying ash
given notes to a dying warrior
the portrait behind the mask.

You perpetuate a moment
touch remembrance to time
in your strength I find a season
from your pen I hear my rhyme

To know you exist in this world
is a spoken weeping flame
and yet I only know
your words, your face, your name

I gaze through the embers now
and see through ancient eyes
emotions and love I endow
for a woman, divinity's prize

~~~ Highlander ~~~
I can almost hear the pipes in the background as you recite this poem.....what a wonderful way to start my morn, with the two things I love most: poetry and music, expecially the pipes!! Thank you for putting this here to enjoy!
The skirl of the pipes echoing across misty glens..calling to that warriors soul...I see you standing there...your kilt flaring about strong legs...a Highlander a Highlander
Ah, passion flows from your pen today.  "She" is out there, my friend, of that I am sure.  Great poem.
Romance at it's best definitely. Lovely write and I am sure you will find that come soon if you have not already.  All love is written in time and if it is a true love then it shares the boundaries of lives past and present.
