Words mean nothing until you add the heart
Like the sun without the sky to place it
Dreams without hope for it to start
or a candle without darkness to be lit

Words without heart are hollow
Like love with no where for it to grow
Treasures to find with no map to follow
or a sunset with no horizon for it to glow

Words woven without a thread of heart pale
Like the finest lace laying tattered and torn
Letters confessing your love lost in the mail
A baby in your dreams that will never be born

Words void of heart cannot fill a soul
Like tender kisses without a cheek to land
Empty arms with no embrace to make it whole
Walks by the ocean without the warm sand

So before you weave the words you want to say
Find the most important thread before you start
You’re words will mean so much more that way
For words are empty without your heart

Much wisdom and truth you have woven into your words here. Words are never empty when they flow straight from the heart, take care my friend.

BDC~ this is so pretty.....I agree, if you don't speak or write from the heart, I just don't see how they could hold any true meaning.   -SEA

ButterfliesDC~
Beautiful words of wisdom.

From the heart ~
It's just what we poets do ~
Is there any other way to weave ?
Nah !  It's the only way to go !

May I simply leave this old one for you and leave it at that? I think you know what the new words would be anyway my friend, do you not?

Do I ?

Do I need to say the words...
when you can feel it in my heart
The longing in the breaths I take...
every second we are apart

Do I need to write the words...
when I pick out a card just for you
As tears of joy stream down my face
As each day I know that overnight it grew

Do I need to carve it in stone...
for all the world to rejoice in this
With heartfelt dreams and memories
Carrying the photographs of our bliss

Do I need to surround you...
in rose petal baths and walks at night
Holding you in my arms as we kiss the stars
and gaze upon the splendor of heaven's light

Do I need to put it down in rhyme...
so you will know the strength of it all
Knowing all along that you need not speak
for me to feel when you are forced behind a wall

Do I need those three little words...
for you to know...do they mean that much
Or are you happy sharing all the sensations
when our hearts are joined with the slightest touch

No I think not...
as you show me each and every day
That this bond we have connecting us
continues to grow and strengthen in every way

  this is so beautiful and

My sincere thanks to each and every one of
you...I made a promise on my first post here
at Passions to always speak from my
heart..you have allowed me to keep that
promise with ease for each one of you show
by example that it is safe for me to do so
and not be condemed for what's in my
heart...thank you all.

BDC,

This was awesome work my friend!!  So true . . . each and every word.  Speak what is in your heart and you speak the absolute truth with all that you are.  Loved this.
Hope all is well with you.
