"Morning's Promise" Awak'ning, shaken from a dream by night's intrusive thief with dews of morning's pleasures past still beaded on the leaf She'll rise, reluctant, from the veil of dawn's last silken sigh with echoes stirring round her head of luna's lullaby What treasures will befall her eyes as darkness lifts its wing as daylight settles valley wide and birds in cypress, sing Reminding her that long ago God's gracious promise made as swift, her feet across the floor she lifts the linen shade Rainydays |
