I am not here
           you can’t see me
my soul is gone
           living free

My heart is torn
lying
   shattered
           there
hopes once pinned
   float into
            thin
                 air

Smiles taken
hugs given in love
what in the world
was I thinking of?

This feeling surely
wasn’t meant to be
at least I’m sure,
                 not for me.

Death of love?
       no not for me
never was it born
in your heart

              for me

Sigh.

'klaindifly' might be appropriate here Sharon....

this one just appeals...

Yikes! Did someone pee in your Wheaties this morning?   Sorry!

This is so sad Sharon. Sounds like being in love with someone that don't know you exist.
I love the format of this, and the feelings that just flow from it!

Poet deVine, this is such evocative writing, and I think I can relate to your message. It's so hard loving invisibly. Thank you ~

I must ditto the satpsych...but that sounds so cold...so please, can I just say that I loved it? and that I could really relate to this one, and I think it's excellent writing and a really great poem? Can I, huh, huh?

and would it be really cliche' if I closed with HUGS? Or should I be really original and say I wanna have your baby? ROFLMFAO...

these words have the impact of being hit in the chest with a floor safe - took the wind out of me felt my ribs press on my lungs - I know not the fool who messed with your heart - but your sadness wrenched me very much

Sometimes I feel that some one has listened to my dreams (or nightmares) and written them down in a poem. This is one of those times, Sharon.
It's hard to love and not know what is returned. But our hearts are stronger than we think.

Isn't it amazing when we read something we felt at one time and yet in another's words?
I personally feel love doesn't die, call me a romantic, sometimes it's not love and we think it is.  I'm rambling...loved this.

Thank you all for your kind replies. This poem sort of oozed out of me....so the feelings were there. I'm so glad Passions is the kind of place where we can share our feelings so honestly. Thank you for being here.
