Worth the Wait

I await that first snowfall,
softness that slowly licks my cheeks
leaving it's moisture behind,
making them rosey to your eyes,

Changing my paleness, the frail look
that has overtaken me, from sick of heart,
to a colourful glow, giving me some joy
to look forward to.

Once I walked hand in hand,
leaving prints behind, for those to see
I shared a love, a fantasyland
of dreams come true.

This time when I walk, there will only
be one set of prints, no gloved hand
to warm mine, and the winds
shall cover my steps, leaving no trace of me.

I shall walk each step, looking ahead
watching for your prints, long stretches between,
noticing your stride, clinging (though only slightly)
to the dreams I hold of you in my mind.

There will come a time, when I shall catch up to you
and you will be free as the fresh fallen snow,
to be swept away in my love...
and then you too, shall know.

~Wynter's Wait

Glad to see you are feeling better, as I can read the change in this poem, a change of hope and a look towards the future, I told you it was just ahead, so keep going, one step at a time. Beautiful words to live by.

~V~...I wish we had that snow, but I do believe we are in for a heavy dose of rain, my pounding head is telling me that much and so this may be the last reply for a few hours until it begins and the pressure releases me. Will catch you later, sent you an icq but you were n/a  {{{huggzz}} til then.

Love how the title sets up the content, which has a very yearning call to it, I really enjoyed the comparisons with the season...this is a beautiful read!!
