Across the miles your voice will call…
my hungry heart responds…
Before I meet the dawning,
you’ll be here where you belong…
If only when I close my eyes,
I hear your soft familiar sighs….
Our hearts will beat as one…
Across the miles…

I have needed you a lifetime,
but I’ve known you but a year…
You have held me with your written love,
and I have held you dear…
I don’t know why we came to be…
I only know what’s right for me…
Our love can spread it’s wings…
Across the miles…

There are oceans deep between us…
There are mountains steep and tall…
But we still reach out and touch,
like they were never there at all…
I dream of how my life would feel,
if all my dreams of you were real,
and someday you will fly…
Across the miles…

Your letters start a glow in me…
I’m happy as a child…
My heart is young, in love, and free…
You’ve given back my smile…
Forever I will love with you…
and on to our next lifetime, too…
Each day I love you more…
Across the miles…

Sunny1~
This is beautifully done.
Soft and tenderly rendered.
I'm very taken with it.
Great job.

Has a sad beauty about it. Makes a nice poem but would surely be a tough way to love.

Love has a way of making the miles seem so far yet it also can make them feel so close at the right times.  Wonderful write my sweet sister.  You know that I loved it and you know that I know of this feeling as well.  Hugs to you and many many thoughts for days of peace for you.

Very tough, indeed, and also very sad.......but isn't love usually both of these at times?  Thank you, my good friend!

~~~ Wilfred ~~~
Yes, I know you understand the thoughts that came me while writing, as I've felt the same thing with your wonderful work!! Thank you!
Thank you, my dear brother, for the peaceful thoughts.......I can use all the help I can get these days, but then.....can't we all?
Your warm thoughts and words are such a welcome sight to these eyes!!!
Ah, so beautiful, and romantic. I have had the feeling, and it was wonderful.
Great poetry Sunny, you always say it like it is, in a  special kind of way.
Sunny-
   oh wow...i can certainly
   relate to these feelings.
   As my friend Mark already said,
   sometimes the miles seem infinite...
   but other times...especially when
   we stop and realize that we share
   the same sky and wish on the
   same stars...it really doesn't
   seem so far...
   i love this.
   hugs,
You pen such loving images.  I would have a lonely heart to accompany the images and many a night of dreaming.
