I Read The Words Of A Poet, Today (an attempt to say Thank You to Passions Poets) |

I Read The Words Of A Poet, Today I read the words of a poet, today, and saw the world the poet's way. I saw the death of a poet's child, husband, wife, I saw the way a poet cried. I saw the pain a poet feels when love goes bad, goes away, or just turns sad. I saw the way a poet see's the sunlit sky, feels the breeze, the grass beneath bare feet, cool water in a brook, all at which the poet looks. I saw the way a poet smiles, the sparkle in the eye, felt the tremble in the chest, the tightness in the throat, the love that swelled the soul, the touch of a loved one's hand. I felt the ache of unfound words straining to sing in the poets way. I knew the joy of having written a wonderful piece, of loss of life, undying love, children, friends, God; of knowing I'd done my best, to hell with the rest this was from me, my heart, my soul, my words, the essence of me and nothing less. I read the words of a poet, today, and saw the world a poets way; and now I lay me down to sleep, to dream the dreams, that poets keep. w. james beard, jr. ...Passions is such a huge board. There are so many wonderful poems here and I have so little time that it's almost impossible to comment on more than just a small percentage so this is an attempt to say THANK YOU to all of the Poets on the Passionate Forums. I read far more than I comment on to read as many as I can when here. And THANK YOU all that read and manage to comment on mine, I know you have limited time also. jwesley [This message has been edited by jwesley (edited 11-05-2000).] |

jwesley, This was an excellent way to say thank you to all the poets who make Passions what it is my friend!! I loved the look at how poets see exceptional things in the world that others sometimes take for granted. Great writing!! LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Did you ever read a poem and think, "Gosh, I wish I had written that!" ?? That's what I thought when I read this piece, jwesley. "I read the words of a poet, today, and saw the world the poet's way." Really loved the way you said all this ~ Take care, Rainydays |

Hi James, This is so sweet of you to do, and yes this place called passions has many family members, it is a gift for any one to come and visit our home, for someone to leave passions with even just one good memory tucked away in their heart then it was so worth it to all of us to share our lives and feelings. I shall leave this post with a smile and a thank you for giving it to me. Beautiful work her I very much enjoyed. Love, Cerenity "God doesn't have to be reminded that we exist. This, James, is a jewel now firmly placed in your crown, for you have shared with all as well...and without you, we would none of us be the same... may you forever reign... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, then speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

JWesley~ Said the poet, in his own way, "I read the words of a poet today, and saw the world the poet's way." No finer tribute given, than to know each poet gives us a look at life from their perspective ... and it is seen by another. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us all. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |
