Strike up a tune on your lute oh minstrel
To accompany the songs that he sings
Be they bawdy tales or tender ballads
It is his words that take us on these wings

A hush falls over the crowd assembled
He comes in, bows to the ladies and lords
Takes out his parchment with a grand flourish
His words fill us like from a vessel poured

The song now sung, the last note hangs in air
He turns and bows once more to those now here
His words have touched them, spoken to their heart
Asking his name, he replied, "Balladeer". . .

YES, yes, yes....he is just that...parchment, prose, tale and all...

he is,

the BALLADEER!

I've petitioned Webster Dictionary to change their definition of the word balladeer to reflect 'Balladeer'...a true minstrel poet!

Though his voice is very much off-key,
Can't sing a single note,
He smells like a well used barnyard,
And does unmentionables to goats,
He certainly has a way with words,
As do you my poet friend,
But never turn your back on him,
You can't trust this guy dear Sven!
