I
"Fish out of water"

Flip flops desperately,
little lips sucking air thinner,
eyes bulging grotesquely.
I know it will die
yet I lip my chops knowing
it's going to be dinner.

II
"You are what you eat"

Takes me to pregnancies...
chocolate milk and velveeta cheese
fulfilled my cravings
though I couldn't see my knees.

III
"Chicken with its head cut off"

Visions of Foghorn Leghorn and
the antics of his protégé,
"Ah say, mah boy, ya don't..Ah say
ya don't kill no chickens doin'
it wit that thar gilloti..."

SSSSLICE *thunk*

Foghorn runs around with his head cut off,
his beak eating dirt, spits out a stern,
"Ah say, mah boy, ah don't, Ah say, ah
don't evah learn"

IV
"Die with a smile on my face"

Images of perishing in the
billowy sheets by the bedstand.
On an ambulance call of that
exact nature, I saw no evidence
of a grin on the dead wife's face.

Shame on that husband!

Yes I know, the seriousness of the situation was.....well, serious....but see that little devil? It certainly is naughty.

If it is at all possible to be serious today, then now would be the time to offer you a serious thank you for enjoying these poems. So.....thank you, Wil! Seriously

vicky,

I'm happy to be of assistance for the laughs.   Now all I have to work on is
not to have my serious poems laughed at!

Chanson,
I laughed at the first three, cried at the last. How do you do that girl, switch tracks so rapidly?
