When Two Worlds Collide

I walk silently among you ...
Invisible to the reality
Of your existence.

Jaded by the trials of life,
I have chosen to drift in another dimension,
Separated from the brutality of your plain.

Gazing back through the barrier,
I view the torture and torment built
By humanity ...
The common practices lived harshly
While viewed as normality.

Protectively, I guard this barricade
From forces that threaten to devour
The very essence of my being ...
The basis of my soul.

Sheltered by these walls,
Behind the veil of my timid existence,
I watch patiently from a'far ...

Living this one-sided actuality,
I pray for the betterment of man;
I dream of the peace and contentment
That all should strive willingly for,
But alas ...
Your reality grows stronger.

The fine line between worlds
Begins to form a tear ...
A fissure in the delicate fabric I have contrived.

Propelled by each act of savagery,
Your evil gains strength ...

I tremble at the brink of sanity,
As the howling rage of wretched souls
Reverberates through this fragile wall,
Shredding the last vestiges of separation.

I shrink back against the harsh, unyielding wind
As it lays waste the final division,
To reveal a gaping, ominous chasm.

I try to flee, but it is oblivious to my cries;
It suctions back my meager life force,
Drawing me screaming and helpless
Through this foreboding portal.

Spiraling and ravaged,
I am dragged against my will
Through the tattered and frayed edges
That once, unequivocally, divided two universes.

Oh please ...
Release me ...
I do not want your world!

Kit, this is powerful, wow. I have been sliding into this abyss myself, feeling like the world intrudes, and continues to get worse and worse, and my pitiful attempts at happiness, or even survival are just that-pitiful.
Or did you mean something completely different  LOL ?
I'm a little depressed lately..

This is powerful!!!  A sensitive soul is sometimes overpowered by the pain without; hang onto your strength; it's all there within you, I can tell that....and please do remember, you are not alone....there are those who will always stand with you!!!

Kit - your heart has been opened, perhaps sad at times, perhaps happy at others. A very meaningful and powerful writing from you.

Kit~
A depth of searching that brings dimension to the soul.
We either implode or explode on collision -
decisions - decisions - decisions.

Deeply you've begun the search.

Kit, this is so amazing, such power, and such a deep meaning. Remember, that all you have to do is ask for help and it will there. A case of reach out and touch, because alone we might crumble, but together we stand. Look after yourself, what was that line in your poem I loved so much, ahhh!

~Sandra:  You pretty much rapped it up Sandra, although there are several facets to my mindset, you've summarized it well ... thank you for being so understanding.

~Pepper:  Sometimes, we have to stand on our own Pepper, and those are the most difficult moments, though I always appreciate my friends .... thank you.

~JanetMarie:  You know, your words mean so much to me JM ... I love you for your caring and warm heart, you're very much appreciated. Thank you

~Sharon: This is not such a departure for me Sharon, it's just not a side I share very often, though I'm very grateful you enjoyed.

~Bonnie:  Thanks so much for your understanding words Bonnie ... I so very much appreciate your thoughts.

~Bill: Opened and lying bare across the page ... this was a tough one Bill, thank you for being so sweet.

~Marge:  Dear Marge, I've been searching so long ... I implode over and over ... some day  I fear the EX-plosion .. thank you for being so astute.

~Marsha:  Ahhh, you've pulled two of my recent poems together Marsha ... "hold tight my heart" indeed. I do try, though I find life rather strangulating at times, thank you for your wisdom.

~Tracie: Thank you so much for the hugs Tracie ... I could use them tonight, more so than others, I'm having a tough night unfortunately. I'm sure it will pass eventually.

~Ron: I'm so glad it gave some thought provocation Ron ... it's how I talk to myself, and only hope I somehow listen. Thank you.

~Balladeer:  Thank you for helping me smile Michael ... your warm thoughts always set my mind in a beautiful place, thank you, I needed that, and am so very grateful.

~Denise: Thanks so much Denise ... I hoped it came across well, and I appreciate your thoughts.

Much appreciation to all,
/Kit
