Baby's Blues

Sitting in class,
I got the news,
"Your wife gave birth
to a set of blues!"

Arriving late,
met by the crew,
"You have a girl...
and look at those blues!"

As towhead born,
for sure, I knew...
Were none as fair
as my "baby's blues!"

On her birthday,
folks came to view
The spectacle of
those awesome blues.

Of all who came,
I have no clues...
For I too, dazed,
was lost in her blues.

Marcy,

So nice of you to miss me over there...

"This world is not my home,
I'm just a passin' through.
My treasures are laid up
Somewhere beyond the blue..."

...I'll be back.

Spit Fire,

Hey, what a nice reply.  Gave me googly eyes and all.  and *Peace.

Bonnie,

I hope you are right... she is 20 now and I am not so sure how she will take this.  I'm sure the young men are dazed by her baby blues now a days.

Victoria,

I'll tell ya a secret... Like in Victoria's... never mind.  Yep, the title is a bit deceptive and I agree if I had eyes like Paul, I'd truly be a New Man.  Thanks for the reply.

Ethome,

Thanks...  She may be grown, but I'll always be her daddy.

Nathan,

Thanks,  The awesomeness of holding your newborn child for the first time stays with you forever and the moment of me staring at her eyes seems as if it just happened.

Nothing like a daughter...even when grown..they always manage to capture their dad's affection.  Loved this tender look at the past.

Martie,

Yep, my now grown daughter's baby blues still have a way of getting this dad's attention...
and I'm glad that you liked it.

Jwesley,

Hey, your response made me feel like I had a big "D" painted on my chest.  You know...
for "Super Dad."  Yep, Dad's are still alive!

Kethry,

Blush!  Well, I guess you are right... We are all hunks in the eyes of our daughters.  That's what you meant right?
