Come In From The Cold

Come in from all the cold and damp outside
And sit with me a while by fireside
Warm cider with some cinnamon and spice
To warm the bones and spirit will suffice

The wind is blowing cold tonight, my dear
But you must know there’s nothing you should fear
For every pain that seems to take a toll
There is a safe warm harbor for the soul

The leaves are blowing round and trees are bare
November moon illuminates the air
With eiree light that innundates the mind
With thoughts that winter storms are right behind

But do not fear what hasn’t come to be
For fear can leave your heart unarmed and free
Stay safe a while beside the warming fire
And sip the spice of life that brings desire

Tell me of your dreams that fell apart
Sit a while and open up your heart
Perhaps we’ll laugh and sing while howling wind
Attempts to chill the stamina within

The wicked weather is a threat at best
Sometimes your spirit needs a place to rest

Sounds like a night when sitting by a cozy fire with a cup of warm spiced cider would be just the ticket Liz.  Beautiful write.  Bonnie

beautiful invitation *except that wicked weather* depends on your take on it.I am teasing I do  get the message. I love the  rain and snow and ice and cold in Winter..for if  we didn't have that, we would not need the fires that burn and enhance our dreams and loving..I did love this..I guess my name makes me a little defensive...I do enjoy your talent, Elizabeth
