Today’s opposite day
Don’t say what you mean
Eat all the fat
And spit out the lean

Today’s opposite day
Don’t hurt your brain
It’s a little confusing
So let me explain

Today’s opposite day
I think of it a lot
If you say that it is
Then maybe it’s not

Today is the day
To say no and to say yes
But if somebody sneezes
Don’t say God bless

Today’s opposite day
I like you a lot
Now I can say that
Without saying Not!

Today’s opposite day
Is your epidermis showing?
Are you still just a kid
Who’s oppositely growing

For the last time I’ll say
It’s opposite day
It’s opposite day!
(Hooray)

If today is opposite day,
And I really can't mean what I say,
Then I'll have to suffice
Without saying it's nice
So I'll just have to be on my way.

Great, er bad, er good, er ... ya know? Man I'm confused, er clear, er oh heck ...

Best wishes Walt,
/Kit

LOL at Nan ...

so today is opposite day...
this game me and me sis used to play
she could never do it...she'd lose her way
if i told her to go..she'd leave when she was to stay
she'd get so mad ... her temper would fray
then shed tell mom .. get me grounded for the day
But since it was opposite day ...
Id go back out to play ...
mom didnt see the humor ... needless to say
then for mercy I would pray ...
so I guess I  better not play  ...
Ill come back on Pin the Tail on the Poet day

great poem walt....thanks for the memories
and the cute, clever way for us to reply.

un-clever, un-amusing, non-enjoyable!!!

This poem sucks.  Wow,  I have never read a poem that actually made me dry heave.  It was boring, it made no sense and the writing style was terrible.

Someone call 911
Walt has gone and RUINED our FUN!
If ever, oh ever, a more undeserving poet
it's our Walt, he's Way Out and we know it!

not a single hug
not a single kiss
I cannot STAND
a poem such as this!

NO THANK YOU!!

My eyes have been insulted-
better  had I pryed them from their sockets
than dishonor them with such superciliousness
niggling not with trivialities I shall cut strait to the marrow as there is no meat left to be cleaved from such a lean offering in the first place.
In a word this is coprolite

A Man A Plan A Canal PanamA!

(This is a Palindrome, it is the exact same letters forward or backward) Like...

Madam I'm Adam.

For the record & in honor of opposite day... Unlike Christopher, I do NOT want world peace! Yet like him... I DON'T drink Tequila & I HATE passions too!

In keeping with the idea that opposites attract,
Well then happy opposite day and all that.  Nicely done.

Walt, I find your poems so normal they're boring. This one would have to be the most normal one of yours I have read.
Lousy poem, lousy idea!

So maudlin, profound, and sublime, with a dash of raw terror and stark horrow mixed in with the croutons of ennui, cut from the bread of discontent, made of chaff from the rumor mill. I am simply appalled.
