The Storm
  ~~*~~

Storm resides ...
     from within the heart
As passing clouds
     kiss with thunder's touch
Reminding me of days
     we dare not depart
Memories dwell ...
     I loved you this much

I hold to past times
     that we once shared
I cling to photos
in the eyes of my mind
I sing the blue of sorrows
     in which we were paired
Tears of which have
     my heart is passion's bind

Do you see all that I feel
     in typhoons quake
Can you see where rain
     stole this perfect team
Will you turn from our love
     and forever sake
Knowing that you took
     my heart's lightning dream

Mark Bohannan

Knowing that you took
     my heart's lightning dream

Such a storm of emotion that we churn within our hearts. Nice response.

Mark,
Im glad you posted this ...
when I read it as a poetic reply..
I thought it was deserving of its own light...
it is VERY beautiful...
rich and powerful in the imagery that is so much a part your poetic gift..
but what drew me more to this one even again now as i reread it..
is the depth and intensity of emotion you express...
this is a passionate, bittersweet, emotive piece of work ...
its awesome MC..
exquisite ..written from the places deep inside you .. from all the ways you love...
I see your heart and soul in this one...

Mark--
this is beautiful! i agree with Janet,
this definitely deserved its own
light. your writing in this is so
powerful and intense. each line shows
the loving heart you have, and the depth
of your emotions. all of your work does
that though, but this one really struck
home with me! take care.

Mark my friend, this is indeed a beautiful and powerful poem. (Actually very real for me as there is a storm sitting right on top of the hospital, at this very minute.) If the lightening flashes anymore I'll expect the entrance of the demon king. Really amazingly astounding, I love this. Truly love this.

Hello Mark, what moving verse this is. The images of your poem are enhanced by the visual images, but even without, remain vivid, strong, striking. Wonderful, stirring writing. Thank you ~

Vicky-Thank you and that is one of my favorite lines in this as well.  Hugs back to you my friend.

Charisma-Thank you and it does seem so much better when you read hers along with it doesn't it?

JM-my friend, the storms of the heart are the ones with the most power.  It is hard not to be able to pen them with electricity as they are so close and felt so vividly.  Thank you so much.

Corinne-Why thank you for that but timing is always an issue sometimes you know.

Bill-Thank you my friend.  Coming from you those words mean so much.

Amy-I do so appreciate your honest and open comments and don't forget, if it weren't for SEA's inspiration in her piece, this one might never have come about.  Thank you from that bottom of my heart my friend.

Marsha-Thank you President...glad you liked it.  A good storm is just what we all need to cleanse the soul sometimes.

Rainydays-Why thank you so very much.  I am really appreciative of your comments and that you liked it so much.

karilea-Yes, we all have them once in awhile and that is what makes us grow within.  Thank you so much...and QUIT CALLING ME SIR...LOL...makes me feel old and we all know I am only 12 or so..

Mark~
My friend, I must say, I know those storms of the heart a little too well myself, and you captured their essence with such beauty.  'Tis true, methinks, from sadness springs much beauty!

The storm of our hearts...this is such
magnificent work Mark...and to know that it
was inspired by a fellow poet speaks volumes
for your talent as well as for your
heart...amazing and spectacular...as the
storm itself...Excellent weaving my friend~

SEA-Anything to do with you or your inspiration will always have beauty.  Thank you for inspiring this one in me.

snowpants-My dear friend, I am sorry that you can relate, but I think most of us can at some point in our lives.  This was not written to do with me now, but just something that came out after reading SEA's poem as mentioned.  Thank you.

Martie-Ahhh but Martie my friend.  My heart is nothing but sunshine right now and how could it not be with friends such as yourself.  Thank you my dear one.

TerryW-Thank you and yes, beauty does seem to follow pain and grow from there.

Marge-Thank you my sweet friend and yes, that does pretty much say it all doesn't it?

Holly-My friend, I do so love getting inspiration from other poets and things in life and look what happens when I do. (wink)  Thank you my friend and YOU KNOW that this is NOT something in my heart right now but just inspired.

SEA-My sweet, you may come around and flash your spark at me anytime, I will always try to ignite it for you.  Now how about a big one on the lips to warm you up a bit.  You seem a bit wet from the strom and all.

When one writes of storms of their soul or heart, these will always be the most emotional.  You have a gift in writing of them Mark, hoping to read you again soon.
