From The Start Amy M. Kennedy From day one I knew you were special And that you were the one Something in my heart told me That magic had begun I think you not know The exact effect you've had on me But it is my intention With this poem to make you see You are like an angel Certainly a gift from God above And when I think of you My heart swells with pride and love Perhaps it’s the simple things That make me feel this way I only know pure and simple I fall harder every day You are my treasured friend And passionate lover all rolled into one Without you I am nothing But with you my life has begun They say everyone has a soul mate That special person who grabs your heart I have known that you were mine Think I have from the start An abundance of emotion Comes to the surface when I think of you And I can say with all honesty Without you in my life, I don't know what I'd do You fill my day with gladness And chase my blues away You make me feel special In ever single way Right now life is hard And the path is unclear But when I think of us apart My heart breaks as I shed a tear Life has taught me many things Some lessons have been tough But I've never met a person Who I've ever loved so much You stole my heart from day one And refused to let it go And now I think its time I think you need to know Forever you will have me Never shall I depart You have me completely Soul, mind, body and heart Best friends we started And it just grew from there I never realized how much I'd love you Or how much I'd come to care I'm sorry for any pain I may have ever caused you 'Twas not my intention I know you don't blame me but in some ways I do What if I had never kissed you? On that fateful day What if I had continued to bottle my feelings? Would things be this way? I shudder to think of life Without you by my side You are everything I'll ever want A constant like the tide You complete me In ways I can't begin to say And forever I shall love you Come whatever may Please do not give up on us I think you know in your heart We were destined as one From the very start "The head learns knew things, but the heart forever more practices old experiences" |

an amazing to tribute to what sounds like an amazing friend. i certainly hope that you shared this with them as well as us, because not everyone is lucky enough to feel such a connection. beautifully written. thanks for postin' it.< !signature--> Everyone's got their demons. What a beautiful write as you lay your heart out for the world to see. Tis true what Holly said, if it is a true love then it is worth fighting for and if it is meant to be then it is meant to be....just don't play with the fate of things....walk in it's promise in your knowing what is to be oneday. |

Amy, This is beautiful, as I've said before, you write your heart, and you do it wonderfully. Take care of yourself Amy, you see I can spell your name , it's just that one of my oldest friends is called Amie, and I think of you both as the same.
