Like I Need You

Like a bee needs a flower
Like a bird needs the sky
Like the earth needs the shower
I need you, I softly sigh

Like the music needs a song
Like the fire needs a flame
Like the ding needs the dong
I need you just the same

Like the wind needs to blow
Like the sun needs to shine
Like the theatre needs the show
I need you come rain or fine

Like the sea needs the wave
Like the river needs the bend
Like the bear needs the cave
I need you your love to send

Like the rain needs the drops
Like the beach needs the sand
Like the cricket needs the hops
I need you close at hand

Like the moon needs the light
Like the stars need the glow
Like the day needs the night
I need you for my soul

Marsha

Charisma, thank you, seems that the mysterious where from which these little scribbles come has a hit. I almost hate to admit it, but these poems and this is another one, haven't really taken any real time at all. So I thank you although I know I don't deserve it.

SEA, love, now don't you know me by now? You know I was teasing, as I know you were. Apart from anything else kid I love mushy, after all isn't that what happens when a mellow Marsha melts!!
And girl you know I love your work, you do don't you? I thought so but it always wise to check at source!
Take care kid, be good, but not too good!!!

Marsha~
It has a cute lilt to it.
When they flow so easily -
there's usually a reason -
Easy to see that this is a happy heart
waiting for a place to happen !

Lovely heartfelt openness in this piece of yours.  I also like the ding and the dong...sort of reminds me of me sometimes LOL...and what would a beach be without sand...you have penned a beauty.

Marge, I thank you, I don't deserve praise, but I still thank you. A very happy heart, which has found it's place to happen. I thank you for your grace, and charm, and I thank you for just being always ready to lift a spirit when it's down. Not obviously that my spirit is tired or down, but when I was, you were. Thank you is too simple a phrase, but it's true nevertheless.

Jon, I thank you too, yes I have a love that is rather special, so the praise should really go to him. There will be someone special for you, I'm sure, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Mark my friend, Surely not Cowboy, a ding or a dong? I'm glad you like this, you are as usual far too kind to me. This is another of those poems that I scribble between doing one thing and then another. Actually I should be working but that's neither here nor there, I could call it dead time, but it's not really an appropriate phrase in a hospital. Anyway I thank you, for lots of things, but mainly because you are a genuine nice guy. For always being willing to share your beautiful poetry with us all. For having a sense of humour and because you seem to always find time to read everyone else's poems, and make pleasant comments on them. And I am proud to call you friend
Take care
