young impressions (1) ... when i was young and the impressions were as an absorbing sponge i'd idle away time, thinking about what my life would bring in my dreaming day(z) i could be a baseball player par excellence or a concert pianist, if only i had the patience to learn perhaps an artist, whose every stroke swooned the masses la femme then one day i saw the garbage man outside filtering through a can i ran out just in time to see him light it up half a stogie hanging out of his blackened mouth one look at me and i knew he'd speak his mind out loud "ya' keep what ya' find in this line of work" and on that day, i had decided that would be the life to lead my, how the impressions sink in so deep M.A. Miller 10.27.00 < !signature--> My calling before me, let quill be my offering; For to be called poet, no greater gift to receive. It's amazing what you remember from childhood.......what leaves the impressions on us.........I worry about that with my kids all the time....... -SEA Great poem. |
