THE ALBATROSS < !signature-->…And there he flies, the albatross, On mighty wings of toil and loss. I suffer grim, give no refute That I, like him, should wind up mute: By crooked eye of Virtue fled Or hell on high through dreams long dead; By answers come in quested need Of all, for some, through test or deed… Of laws sanctioned to higher cause To humble those who would not pause, Yet pausing those who could not see Their sanctioning in misery. Two thousand years, a timely tale, We’ve shed the tears, drawn tight the veil, And knelt on knees to call on Grace N’er to appease the mirror’s face… Nor grant relief the blistered wisp Of hope on the sky, clean and crisp, Bearing for all, the Martyr’s cross: And there he flies, the albatross. Michael Anderson But dreams of those who dream as I, Aspiringly, are damned and die. EAP [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 10-24-2000).] |

This just reads so fluidly Michael ... truly beautiful! "By answers come in quested need Of all, for some, through test or deed…" So many tests, yet the answers still elude me ... I must therefore fall under the "some" ... sigh ... a wonderful read! Best wishes, /Kit |

this is extremely deep, a very, very powerful piece here, Michael. "When red-haired girls scamper like roses over the rain-green grass, and the sun drips honey."" Laurie Lee Kathleen |

How extraordinary for me to discover, after all this time, and all my denial and excuses that I am my own albatross. Working on it, m'friend...thanks for the think. |

Looks like you've given everyone something to think about, dear ... ... rendered with your accustomed grace and skill, of course. Love you -- you still amaze me ... -Linda Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers. |

oh sure - off on another whiny-mopey, woe is me trip, eh??? Just teasing bro - Actually - I've never seen the albatross in quite this way... Always, I saw them as solitary, yes, but what must it be like to roam the skies o'er the seas... a martyr's cross.. maybe not, but it is an interesting idea. Remember tho - ever free. C |
