Pouring rain A moments loss of concentration And the car is out of control The wail of a siren The thump thump of rotor blades Your face is the first one that she sees Through her terror and her pain Your voice a comfort as you tell her She is no longer alone This is but a moment in your day Just one of many, too many at times Sometimes you wonder why you're here Then you remember her face How she placed her trust in you Even as she bled out her life in the rain Your hands and skill not always enough No matter how hard you try But she wasnt alone, you gave her that So I'm here to tell you From a mothers heart That what you did was a gift That she didnt have to die alone Takes away some of the pain You will never know just what that means And I have to tell you Right from my heart You'll always be a hero to me. |

Excellent Paula.....Jamie and all firefighters, police officers and paramedics everywhere do need our thanks. And when you see red lights flashing and hear sirens, for heaven's sake, pull over and let them pass!! |

I second Sharons words. These people are the ones we should value above all, they risk their own life to help others. How much more can someone do in life, to be called a hero? Great poem, and good message for all. Sandra |

Aw gee--Thank you very much Paula. I am quite sure that inside those among us who think they have done nothing heroic, beats a hero's heart. Thanks for thinking of me. Jamie Tu ne cede malis, sed contra audentior ito. - Virgil. "Yield thou not to adversity, but press on the more bravely". |
