Red light. My neck is bent trying to see if it’ll change.
Glare on the windshield makes it hard to see.
Still red. No one moving.
Car behind me belches out a bass line much to loud.
I can see heads bobbing in the rear view mirror,
Or is it the bobbing head doll on my rear window shelf?
Turn my radio obscenely loud to cover the obscenely loud radio
That wont let me hear my radio.
Radio spits out  another lonely heart song. Been there, done that.
Guy on my right picking his nose. Got a winner, pal?
Always someone doing that. Ever notice?
Girl on my left painting her face, like it’s not pastel enough.
I think it’s turning yellow. No one moving.
Guy on the corner has a sign.
Says, I will work for food.
Great concept. I think it’s called getting a job.
Why is this light taking so long?
The guy next to the guy behind me with the loud music
Is arguing with the guy behind me.
Fingers are stabbing the air.
They probably can’t hear what each other are saying.
What's wrong with this light?
The guy on the corner is trying to get the attention
Of the girl with the cosmetic face.
The guy on the right just realized what he’s doing.
Looking around nervous like. Picker.
I can’t believe she let that guy in the car.
Two losers. Made for each other.
My taxes will be paying for their kids.
Everyone’s getting out of the cars behind me,
I think there’s gonna be a fight.
Now I can see my Bobbin head doll.
Horns are blasting because these guys behind me are arguing.
This looks like it’ll get rough.
The picker took off, so did the painted girl.
Oh geez, because of the morons behind me, I missed the light.
Lights red again. My necks bent over again.
What’s this guy on my left doing?

Very interesting write, Ron!  I once wrote a poem while stopped at a red light.  Quite a different outcome, though.  Nonetheless, this was a great write!

I couldn't let this pass me by without telling you how much I enjoyed it.  Your tone comes out very well. Seems like annoyance mixed with amusement. I like it!

Ron, I saw that man picking his nose too!!
And that girl putting on that make-up...
Geeeze...she was a sight, wasn't she??
Ya know, I'll bet we were sitting at the same red light!!! I 'WAS' a little miffed
though, because you missed that light and I had to wait in that darn line for the light again!!! LOL

I LOVED this!!! Good read and a good laugh!

Hilarious! Great read after a crappy day at work. Red lights never seemed so interesting.

Ron,  I read this one last night and thought it was hillarious, today I thought about it off and on and laughed out loud. That probably confirms my warped sense of humor. This is a great visual of funny and it made a hazy day brighter for me.    Marcy

Glad you all enjoyed it. counted three pickers today, to pastel faced girls, and too many loud radios to mention...maybe we should have a scorecard? lol
