The Threads of Life How fragile are the threads of life Like dangling autumn leaves The smallest gust can pull a man Into the swirling breeze And all that’s left his children Are the things that he believes So tender is the love that binds A father to his son Like petals of a rose in bloom That fall when season’s done The fragrance reappears when rosebud Opens to the sun So difficult to break the silken Threads of love that bind A kindred man to kindred man In heart, and soul and mind So beautiful the golden thread So loving, grand and kind Tis only leaf that leaves the tree The love will never die In finest hues of gold or crimson To the wind it flies The precious threads since childhood Were spun in lullabies So fragile are the threads that bind From earth to heaven, so pure and fine Elizabeth Santos |

You do write the sweetest, most beautiful lyrical poetry. Totally captivating, and smooth as Bourdeaux...in awe again... |

Elizabeth, Lyrically perfect. You have left me speech less with this wonderful memento. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

SweetElizabeth~ Such loving grace in your thoughts~ 'So difficult to break the silken Threads of love that bind A kindred man to kindred man In heart, and soul and mind So beautiful the golden thread So loving, grand and kind Tis only leaf that leaves the tree The love will never die In finest hues of gold or crimson To the wind it flies The precious threads since childhood Were spun in lullabies' And the lullabies lay in the throat of hum - never forgotten - forever sung.
