The Final Decree (Goodbye) My lawyer couldn't quite understand the grounds for divorce now in his hand. He told me he had talked to my lovely wife and she was very perky and full of life. So could I please tell him in simple words he could comprehend just have a friendly conversation man to man. For a lawyer must always know exactly which way the case might go. I began to tell him how me and the little woman didn't always see eye to eye on some very important issues where my heart lie's. He spoke again, "How could this possibly be. I talked to her and she was very nice to see. Now continue with your explanation to enlighten me." "Well, to be precise, I don't like what my wife has done to me. My wife has run off to be a stripper for every eye to see. But in her eyes she's and entertainer or should we say a woman that dances professionally. And although I find it to be very artistic and truly many men enjoy her show this man finds he must take his heart and go." "So if you don't mind just leave my words exactly as before. This is the way I wish the decree to read forevermore." Let it read "Me and my wife fail to see eye to eye and now my heart grieves and my eyes cry and this decree will simply be a final Goodbye." James..... It's hard to say goodbye, but it's even harder to try to change someone who has their mind made up and won't change. Maybe goodbye is the only answer left. Follow your dream! |

James~ I am so proud of you for leaving her....how painful that had to have been for you....the only man to see my goodies is my husband period........This speaks volumes to me.....my final good-bye was in Okinawa..I just didn't want him to hit me again or have my son raised thinking abusing women is ok. So we bailed. Awesome poem sweetie. -SEA |

James, this is such a great poem, and you've written it so well. You have an amazing ability to write truth, and write it so that it is real. Great write, I really like this. Oh and well done for seeing the situation as it is instead of how you wish it would be. Take care Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |

What a hard situation to deal with, what a hard decision to make. As Sven said above, it is the best decision if you follow your heart. The road will still be hard, but the heart never lies, so it will work out best for you in the end... *hugs* Isis *I believe every time you put your words to paper, you change. I have said goodbye a few times in my life and it is never easy...but, I think we take with us some wisdom of learning that each friendship and each relationship gives us. You poem was well done and heart felt. |
