I linger within my thoughts, Much too long, I ponder being myself, And why no happiness brought, Much too long. Alone to ponder myself. Then moments Stretch out away from being, Then being, Not being, Will stretch backward to being, Then moments The flower has dried complete, Ends its time of smelling sweet, Captures a shade of beauty, Of all it became to be; The letter has yellow corners, From sunlight on the counter, Creased from often refolding The words in my mind holding. The corner behind the chair, And an active spider there, Spinning a web up so high In hopes of a careless fly; Which lands light on the counter, Near flower that dried complete. Then moments Will stretch backward to being, Not being, Then being, Stretch out away from being, Then moments. The flicker of candlelight, Then darkness, And pondering has ended, The candle burned half the night, Through darkness, Will the spirit be mended? Gloom2000 |

The spirit, can always be mended I think Gloom. Your ponderings make for some very insightful thinking. ~Quietly thinking....~ |

Thank you, GreyMouser, Glad my words could touch you. Thank you, Gentle Spirit, I am pleased my words could cause thought; I tend to ponder my many mistakes. Thank you, Gemini, A poet can attempt to capture An emotion or a moment, glad I was successful Gloom |

This piece gave me much to think about...I think if we are honest most of us have had moments such as this and can relate in our own way...powerful writing! |

The flower has dried complete, Ends its time of smelling sweet, Captures a shade of beauty, Of all it became to be; The letter has yellow corners, From sunlight on the counter, "Creased from often refolding The words in my mind holding. The corner behind the chair, And an active spider there, Spinning a web up so high In hopes of a careless fly; Which lands light on the counter, Near flower that dried complete." Powerful poem! You give us all much to ponder. And I agree with Holly--we ALL can relate to these type of moments from time to time in our lives. Thanks for posting this little jewel. Take care. Amy |
