A canvas, life does use of us to paint
its whims and fancies on our virgin souls.
If good times, pastel colors represent,
then charcoal black must trouble surely sketch.

Our truths outline with purest oxide white
while lies are washed in bile yellow strokes.
Let anger rule and war will splash each hand,
drenched sanguine, which no sovent can dissolve.

What hue and shade of pigment does love brush
that stains sad tears until no blue remains,
when two who mix upon one common pallete,
stroke wet soft hues that their eyes only see?

Such portrait of sweet love they blend of each,
beframed in gold, to last throughout the years.

GreyMouser, how skillfully you've used colour's symbolism in this deep and detailed piece. I very much enjoyed it. Thank you.

Thank you all for your kind replies.
I wrote this as a practice of sonnets
but wanted a different feel to it..
