Going to the chapel
and get married
Raise 2.5 IDs.
Take you down the aisle
not of church of Baptist or Christian
or any other sacred mission
no my love but
straight into my heart
to decree my love undying
for even God will fade
and pass I could deny all
in the face of the divine
But in the face of you
I am powerless to lie.

Going to the chapel,
and get bound, Siamese lovers
at the wrist where others
would topple and crawl
nail and fist
We dance
playing out the songs
of true romance.
I drink of the sacred wine
as you drink of mine,
mouths as honey petals
opening
to raptures to melodies
to melodious rhapsody.

Sleep upon the icing
Virgins once again.
Kiss in whispers.
No more giant distance,
Waiting upon packaged commitments.
Nestling in the groves
of our orchard, the humble milieu,
a single touch flowers Utopia.
Planted in Matrimony
Seeds wash the skin,
culling a harvest sentimental
sweet feast of ambrosia,
Forever we may gorge upon
the bounty of our deed.

"an afixiation a fix on anything the line of life the limb of a tree
the hands of he and the promise that s/he is blessed among women".
Patti Smith

Agreed - not your "normal" style, but then again, one of the things I've enjoyed from you is the diversity of your writing!

Sleep upon the icing
Virgins once again.
Kiss in whispers.

Yeah - just like that!

Ba-daam Brian - this one really rocks!

Brian,

Wonderful piece my friend!!  Lovely lines here . . .
Take you down the aisle
not of church of Baptist or Christian
or any other sacred mission

straight into my heart
to decree my love undying
for even God will fade
and pass I could deny all
in the face of the divine
But in the face of you
I am powerless to lie.

Exactly as it should be.

reminds me of an old song "going to the chapel and we're gonna get married"
I'm dating myself here, but I loved this one, Brian
