*it can't rain all the time* The candle flickers; The rain pitter-patters; My heart does the same- the line's getting flatter. A solo piano is sharp contrast to the raging clouds outside. But they're both playing the same song of the doubts I push down and hide. Broken glass without a window. I hear it whisper beneath my shoes. The stormy night tugs at me... Invite her in or do I step through? It can't rain all the time Tears don't fall forever Dark corners in my mind Make the light seem that much better I try to go to sleep at night, but I live in this unrest. Lightning threads my cloudy eyes- what if the world was just one less? I'd sell my soul for a second chance. I don't, but you do deserve it. If going to Hell meant you'd have your wings, then every scar is worth it. I paint on a mask of black and white and I push away the pain. But my heart can merely bleed when the make-up meets the rain. It can't rain all the time Tears don't fall forever Dark corners in my mind Make the light seem that much better The candle now, is only wax. sadness screams; smoldering dreams; The storm tugs at my mask. Buildings burn and People die. Nothing lasts forever. But the Trivial matters and Beauty lasts as long as we remember. "Dark corners in my mind make the light seem that much brighter" That alone, is worth the read, m'friend, but you also have, "if going to Hell meant you'd have your wings then every scar is worth it" I needed to hear that, t'nite...I thank you much...you've been studying m'friend...grins to you and hugs. |

Ethan Halo~ Superb piece of writing and an excellent read Buildings burn and People die. Nothing lasts forever. But the Trivial matters and Beauty lasts as long as we remember. And it won't either. Sooner or later the memories will go from being storms raging inside of you to sunshine visions of all the good times and the moments that happen only once will be the ones to cherish the most. Wonderful write. |
