~* The Five W's voiced from child ~* Where is my daddy today Guess he lives someplace else not too far away When is my daddy coming to visit me Perhaps on Sunday but will his promise keep What is my daddy going to do with me Just have to hold onto his hand and wait and see Why does he not call is he late again Guess he went out last nite and as usual slept in Who will take me to feed the ducks at pond Oh I see now it's my mommy cause daddy isn't coming. perhaps daddy's not there because he's really only a father ... not a 'daddy' We all have fathers ... to bad we don't all have a dad ... nicely done |

PoetFriends, I realize this isn't much in terms of embellished rhyme, nor may it appeal to many, but sometimes words of child like this just seem to crawl within the depths of your soul... Rex you hit the nail on the head with your comment... anyone can be a mother or father but to be a mommy N daddy is a gift! So sad to see a child suffer because of the lack of maturity by an adult. Heartwrenching words from you in this piece and made my eyes tear up. |

Coco I believe if a man was a good father before a divorce he will continue to be a good father after the divorce...and if not he will probably remain the same...why would he change because usually during a divorce the man is forced to move from the home and in some cases he doesn't want to lose his family, his wife or his children. It is a very stressful think to go thru for everyone involved...not just the children...it is easy for the one that has custudy to judge the other one...when they are always there living with the children and the other must begin their life all over...and of course all concerned must now face life much differently...it is an emotional hell for a man to be forced from his family...it is a sad situation that the children must suffer so much and I believe the husband and wife are sometimes equally at fault...easy to point the finger at the one that is forced from the home...see they are not spending time with the children...proves they were no good...I can clearly see the reason you wrote this is the heartbreak you watch the children go thru...thank you for having a soft and concerned heart..hoping for the best for all involved...James |
