Don't you find it odd Doesn't it seem strange Lonely Cowboy out here on the range You could have had her if only you'd spoken from your heart she needed your words but that was only part It was never money she knew you had none But wildflowers picked for her and she'd have come undone It was never jewels those she simply didn't need her heart was full of love not materialistic greed All she really wanted was your time and some romance ~a moonlit walk~ ~a spontainious slow dance~ It was all so simple that's now painfully clear as she's loving someone else and you're alone out here. -SEA- |

Yeppers sometimes us cowboys never learn and that is why so many of us out here on the range are alone. Now you really know why we die with our boots on. No reason to take them off in our last days. Wonderful write from you and remember...a cowboy is only as good and he allows himself to be and most of the time he does it alone. |

It's not only Cowboys who do not see that it is the little things some of us treasure most. |

Well I was hopeing you were not talking about your own "hubby" cowboy. I am so glad that your friend learned in time. All I knew is and was glad of is that this cowboy poem weren't for me.LOL.. Still what I said about cowboys is true though. Some of us are just plain hard headed. |

very nice Sea..i think a bunch of wildflowers mean more then a dozen roses anyday because they are picked by his own hand instead of a charge card haa.. A poem is never finished, only abandoned. - Paul Valery (1871-1945) |

SEA, that was a wonderful read with the flow and meter I love so much. It is a wonderful message, but lets remember that there are some "cowboys" out there who get it, and yet, they remain invisible. But again, beautiful poem TLS |

SEA, this is a wonderful poem. I loved the message and feel. I'd liked to say though that many Cowboy's did get it and gave their heart and soul and wild flowers abunded and still were not appreciated for that effort. The two sides have to be in concert otherwise its just a solo singing cowboy, and a cowgirl singing another tune. Parker |

i love this..it reminds me of a country song.. "She'd have said yes in a new york minute, but they never tied the knot, his heart wasnt in it...he just stole a kiss as he rode away..he never hung his hat up at kittys place.." -toby keith this poem reads sad, but theres an air of freedom in it too..strange--i guess freedom begets a little sadness--lonliness.. great write! hugs, dg she doesnt want the kind of love she can live with--she wants the kind she cant live without -clint black |
