A Green Apple..Past and Present!

Today I climbed up in a tree, like in the days of old,
When I was just a youngster,
in thoes days I was so bold.

I picked myself an apple. Yep you guessed it. It was green.
I planned to eat it anyway.
Couldn't resist that polished sheen.

I climbed up as high as I could go. Then I settled down to eat,
that green apple I had picked,
propping up with my feet

I let my mind drift away, back to thoes carefree days.
When all I had to worry about,
was the latest craze.

And now a memory oh so sharp, reminded me of another time,
the awful cramps I'd suffered then,
struck my stomach and my mind.

I had to go..I HAD to go, and down I began to climb.
But when my feet touched the ground,
I knew what I would find.

Too late, too late, would you believe, the mess that I was in?
I'm too damn old for this sort of thing.
I'll NEVER try that stunt again!

If you can't make it so,
you need to let it go!

Ya know - I was (stuck) up in an apple tree yesterday - pickin' & eatin' the best ones... and the strangest thing happened... I looked up and saw someone else there doin' the same - That was YOU???..

Now this was just cute.

Sounds like something I've promised to do lately. I swore that soon I would find me a tree to climb again.
