It’s been a month of Sundays since I have seen your face You let me down completely, long gone without a trace What did I do or not do to make you go away? I thought I’d have you always until my dying day. Now nights play long and lonely without you by my side Despair and heartache gather, I have nowhere to hide Unanswered questions haunt me, no reason can I find We had it all, I thought so, or was I merely blind? Did spoken vows mean nothing, just words of emptiness What happened to the promise of wedded blissfulness Did I have expectations beyond reality Did you have needs, desires, that I just couldn’t see? Could it have been the struggle to make it to the top That never ending battle, demands that would not stop The mounting bills, receding security of youth? Well, since you never told me, I’ll never know the truth. Denise (just fiction!) [This message has been edited by dsnyder (edited 10-10-2000).] |

You've captured many of the questions and heartache in this so well Denise, and I enjoyed the tempo ... well done! (and Phew! Glad it is fiction for you my friend). Best wishes, /Kit |

Your talent shows in this...especially seeing that it was fiction brought to life under your pen. Excellent work~ |

Phew! You had my eyes popping there momentarily too Denise! You've written an EXCELLENT piece, considering it's fiction. Strong emotion and something many can relate to. Though I've not been through it all, but I can relate to this, and it's questions. It came close a few times....but we're stuck like glue. Again Denise, this is EXCELLENT!! ~Hugs~ <*\\\>< I know not what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future. |

Great piece Denise, considering the fact that it's fiction......well that makes you a great fiction writer, as well as a non-fiction one. Thanks for sharing! Nathan |

I too was glad to find that it was just fiction and went back to read a second time with much relief. Loved it much and you sure know how to dwell up those emotions don't you? |

Denise, I know what you write about here, first hand. It's a heart-breaking time of life to go through. You've related well, almost as though you have been there. I let my imagination go now and then, but most of my poems are from experience. It is a fine writer who can go off and create something like you have here. |

Suthern - life sure can have its tempo disruptions, can't it? Thanks for reading and replying! Nan - Yes, me too. There is way too much heartbreak, for sure. Thanks for reading and replying! Marge - likewise! Check your email! Butterflies - Thanks! I'd thought I'd try something I don't normally do. I usually write from personal experience. Kathleen - Thanks for your lovely reply! Charisma - Thanks so much for your lovely reply! Maree - So nice to read you when I get the opportunity too! Thanks! Sharon - hehehe...thanks! I thought it best to put in the disclaimer so as not to cause you all to worry! Rebecca - Sorry.....hehehe....maybe I should have put the disclaimer at the top! ~hugs~ Nate - Thank you and you are quite welcome! Mark - Thanks! I'm glad you were relieved! Dixie - I'm sorry that you had to experience such pain. Thanks for reading and replying. Martie - Thanks so much! Balladeer - Thanks! What a sweet thing to say! Thanks again, everybody, for reading and taking the time to reply. It is always appreciated. Especially after a bad day at work. Denise |
