Winds of Loss < !signature-->A broken heart is easily burned, For it lies on the ground as tenders. The love it needs, does it yearn, But weak for lack of defenders. The spirit tries to soar so high, That it loses orientation. Sights that are seen aren’t real, oh nigh. Lack of destination. The soul is eternal in pain of loss, For lack of what it needs. The time now comes for me to toss, With hands full of seeds. But love is gone on winds of loss, As I fall to my knees. Richard “Rickey” N. Boydstun, Jr. Trust Instinct. Instinct will keep an animal alive, but Logic can kill a man. Richard "Rickey" N. Boydstun, Jr. [This message has been edited by TearsFromHeaven (edited 05-02-2000).] |

Welcome to Passions! As a lover of nature, I have seen loss there, and in my own life. This was exquisite in that you mentioned seeds....and I thought of how the wind carries them. Looking forward to reading more. Kathleen [email protected] |

Rick, my Friend, I am at a loss for words. The emotion that resonates from this poem is as real as the very air around me. Every time I read it I like it a little more. It has always been one of my favorites of yours, and I am so glad that now you have joined us at Passions you decided to share it with everyone else. Keep it up. I know that everyone here is waiting for the next one as much as I am! ![]() ~you reached inside, you touched my heart, and I am all the better for it~ Terry A. Woodson, Jr. |

Good opener my friend, welcome to Passions. If I could paint a portrait, of this life in which I've led, and somehow sketch a story, of the visions in my head, I'd start out with a canvas, stretched tightly in a frame, and in the bottom corner, I'd leave room to sign my name. This is such a "feeling" piece. I, too, loved the idea of spreading the seeds to the wind...there was hope in that, but then, the winds of loss...such lovely descriptive writing. Welcome and thank you for sharing this. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
