Sweet Dreams Of Peace As I sit here all alone I send my love to you I know that you are listening from your heavenly view I once cried to you "Why did you have to leave?" "Why did you have to go, and leave me here alone to grieve?" You sent to me the answer last night as I slept As into my slumber my dreams quietly crept You were sitting around with friends who had gone on before You had a look upon your face that said you'd cry no more I saw you running through a field and picking pretty flowers Although I only saw a glimpse I swear it felt like hours I just thought that I would say my heart is now at peace And until we meet again my love will never cease by: Jeffrey Carter I lie awake in a world filled with dreams, but dreams can be so real when you don't know you're asleep |

Jeffrey, this beautifully written sadness is sweetened with a certain sense of emotional closure. I have lost two very special people in my life in just a short few months...I guess you could say I'm still waiting for my dream. Thank you for sharing yours. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Hang in there Claire. That dream will come when you least expect it. As long as you have them in your heart you will always be together. All my love, Jeffrey Teresa, Thank you for your compliment. I'm still entranced in that book of yours. Wonderful writing. All my love, Jeffrey I lie awake in a world filled with dreams, but dreams can be so real when you don't know you're asleep |

Jeffrey - I have just finished reading your poem about Chris - and now this one - I will have some good thoughts for you - when we lose ones we love the pain can be unbearable to us and we often think how will we go on....but we do, we find strength in our families and friends, we find strength in God.....we learn to continue to live as best we know how....Peace to you Jeffrey Roniece xx |

Jeffrey~ I believe the kindred spirits of those we've loved and lost return to us to give us comfort. I'm so pleased for you that you are letting them enter. You will be richer for the experiences. You're writing some good stuff, babe ! Love ... and lots of it. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Jeffrey~ This was so beautiful, thank you for sharing it with us. They always find a way to comfort us don't they. I remember last year on the night of my grandmothers funeral I was sitting all alone in my lounge and I felt really cold all of a sudden and I felt on my hand like a brush of cold air over it and like a hand brushing over mine, I thought I was crazy but I do believe that it was my nan telling me everything was okay. thats what I like to think anyway.... Tracie~ P.S take care Keep all the windows of your mind open Anne Rooks |

WOW! I am overwhelmed at these responces you guys. I am at a loss for words. The best compliment a writer could ever get is knowing that they've touched someone. You guys are gonna make me cry.(sniff) Thank you soooo much. Love to you all, Jeffrey |

Such a beautiful poem about how beautiful death can be, once you understand. Great job. "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -Oscar Wilde |

Such tender truth can come from dreams...My daughter died when she was eight. My son, who was five at the time, had a dream that he saw her in the sky in a beautiful garden, watering the flowers. She told him not to worry, she was fine...I think she reached his young and unencumbered spirit with a message, and he passed it to me.... |

Thanks Marie! Martie, I for one believe in the power of dreams. Sorry to hear of your loss. But rest assured She is with God and smiling down on you. I hope this poem helped you in some way. All my love, Jeffrey |

I've lost so many from war, death, indifference, the latter only recently and it is the most bitter. Indifference is worse than any emotion I believe. This poem was almost too emotional to read, and yet it was excellent. Kathleen |
