The Gate of ST. Peter When I reached the gate of ST. Peter I knew just what he’d say He looked at my record And immediately wanted to turn me away OK, I might have been a bit wild Perhaps when I was young Yes, there were some people Who would have loved to see me hung I guess, I wasn’t perfect I will have to agree But let’s not be too hasty Let’s talk this over you and me At least give me a chance To make good of all my sins Hey! Look on the bright side At least I wasn’t a twin So, let’s skip the formalities I know who you are Paul….George…Ringo..er..I mean Peter Which way to the nearest bar? With that, he dialed the telephone And to the “Big Guy” he talked I just stood there Waiting to be welcomed, into the flock It only took but a moment or two And the receiver was back in place He stood there just glaring at me Then put a huge smile on his face “Apparently we have made a grave error” And is not YOU that we seek Can you imagine my surprise…. When I learned, I was their third mistake that week! Marina Apr. 2000 [This message has been edited by Marina (edited 04-25-2000).] |

Marina, how did you know that I needed to laugh tonight? This was a great poem, and I can indeed relate to it!! Your gift for humor is excellent. . . ---------------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

LOL Marina-girl... this was so cute..and so creative... feels good to laugh dont it (smile) great one here..love the goofing of his name! take care my friend...jm Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders And it makes me want to touch you there. And the light in your eyes makes me feel Like there's something much better out there Something kind... And I know someday I might be looking around Trying to find some purpose Well purpose it can't be that hard to find As long as I've got the wind... The wind and your love to carry me. vertical horizon |

So clever and refreshing, this. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Marina I get the joke but its nothing to laugh about if St. Peter turns you out. Ha...ha.... Reminds me of that song many years ago...something about smoke, smoke, smoke, that cigarette...smoke, smoke, smoke, til you smoke yourself to death... See St Peter at the golden gate..you say I'm sorry you gotta wait.. I just gotta have another cigarette. This was creative and funny. James |

Thanks to everyone!! I was just looking to do something different and maybe brighten my spirits a little bit yesterday. One of those moods I guess when you just feel like writing something fun and silly. Marina |
