Deleeme's Dilemma

Deleeme has a dilemma
We’re all aware of that
He strives to find a perfect world
In which he’s not a gnat

He came out of the closet
Where his efforts were in vain
To find the perfect garment
To match his style with his name

He comes out of his spiritual forum
And through the closet door
Where you can find a thousand outfits
Waiting to be worn

It’s an effort to select his garb
The outfit that attracts
From sandals, chords, and brownish robes
To suits for little gnats

He decides just who he wants to be
That person of the day
Today, an Open 7 addict
Loved in every way

He gives three D’s to live by
Deleeme’s Dilemma Dissolved
And he seeks a perfect world
Where as a gnat he’s not involved

So he comes to Open 7
His tenets deep within
He’ looks for cyber friendships
And he enters with a grin

Seeking ordinary people
Was the goal of his request
But he only found extraordinary
In this poets nest

Just as the ones in spiritual
True friends they have become
Now he flitters back and forth among
The friendships he has won

And the cyber friends up on the screen
Are now becoming real
“Real people” in a  “real world”
Though imperfect it may feel

He’s opened up the Internet
To places far and wide
He travels round the world
But never loses what’s inside

A man of faith, and Love of God
Who’s not afraid to tell
The world through lines of poetry
The depth of his own well

And that leads us back to the start
Of Deleeme’s Dilemma Disclosed
The whole problem was resolved
When he stopped changing all those clothes

A rats a rat, a gnat’s a gnat
Each one has special worth
His attire is now his spirit
Clothed in God’s word here on earth

His words I read in Spiritual
His verse in Open 7
Are so uplifting to the soul
He’s a shoe-in for gnat heaven

Now there's one more dilemma
I'm sure you all feel the same
How do you say "Deleeme"
And where did he get that name?

(Isn't that a flea's name?)

Liz

One member of Red Hot Chili Peppers is Flea, and he is one of trhe best bass guitarists around...

grrrrrrr....

Nice work, Liz, a bit different from the past few. I enjoyed this all the same...

My heart is pounding, my stomach's inside out
I'm feeling kind-a-shaky, my mind is full of doubt
All I ever think about, is fearing fear itself,
Wish I could unscrew my head and put it on the shelf
Everything is twisted, everything is oh so tight,
Don't know what I'm looking at, the lights are all too bright
My brain's about to crumble, spill out on the floor
Sweep 'em up. Throw 'em away, don't want 'em anymore
Clouds race across the sky, day turns into night,
Still there are the questions, no answers in sight
Everything is twisted, everything is oh so tight,
Starin' out the window, everything is just too bright
Brain's about to crumble, spill out on the floor,
Wish I could unscrew my head, and kick it out the door...
You know I'm feeling kind-a....Strange
You know I'm feeling kind-a....Strange

Dear Liz,
I am sorry that this reply is so long after the writting of the amazing poem. I just returned from vacation with my brother in Michigan--and would have missed gem-if Ellie has not put me on to it.(Thank's Ellie!)
It's good to know that I may be gone(from time to time) but not forgotten.
I count it a very high honor indeed to be the subject of a poem, any poem written by
Elizabeth Santos.  I hold you in the highest esteem as a person and as a writer, having the utmost respected and admiration of you and your works.
This poem may not have meant a lot to many others- but it sure has hit me in the heart-
Thank you so much for your free consultation,
Dr. Liz.  I am at once humbled and happy with the joy of recognition your kind and generous words have afforded me. God Bless you Liz--You are truly one of a kind-the Very Best Kind,    ^))  David

P.S. deleeme is prounced as it looks -Lee-Me
which means =(david)-Lee=(middle name)=Me.
Not so mysterious after all,eh?
