The Clown at Midnight A permanent midnight In a house of terror Hiding in the darkness A clown waits there Under the moonlight His eyes grow brightly A hideous smile Curves ever so slightly The clown at midnight Is drawing near He knows your thoughts And smells your fear A terrible giggle Heard under your bed Outside your door And inside your head Icy fingers Around your throat You gasp for air As you begin to choke The clown at midnight Has struck once more Beware of Him He’s at your door Better to die, and sleep The never-waking sleep, than linger on And dare to live when the souls life is gone. |

Gee Trevor. I was just about ready to shut down my computer, and go to bed. LOL I think I will stay up for awhile. What an interesting poem to write. ~netswan |

What a poem, fabulous writing, I'm just glad I read it in the morning not at night before bed, talk about self inflicted nightmares...LOL |

Thanks a lot guys! LOL! I appreciate the feedback. Better to die, and sleep The never-waking sleep, than linger on And dare to live when the souls life is gone. |
