Shivering.... As footsteps fall. They're coming close... Hoping they will pass. The door knob moves... "Go away" she prays. He enters softly... Her body stiff. He pulls back the covers... "NO MORE!" she screams. His hands pull her closer... There is no sound. He lays with her... She is not there. Somewhere in the night, A child plays in her mind, As her body can not escape. |

Wow. This is a very strong piece. Child Abuse is a horrible thing. "It is in our aloneness that we recognize our oneness, even as the single droplet of water knows also that it is the sea."Daniel *Cassie Roseen* |

Marilyn I can relate to this very well. A truly powerful piece which just made me want to yell stop! So much fear placed upon those who can not help themselves. Thank you so very much for posting to our cause. Marina |

Thankyou all for reading and replying. This was written to be horrifyingly real so that we might put ourselves in the place of this child. If we shut out the misery that occurs in the night how can we ever fight it? If we turn our heads and wish it gone, how can we defeat this monster? Fight hard for those who can not. Stand strong for those who haven't the strength. Scream loud for those who's voices have been muted. Love deeply for those who have never know the meaning of true love. Never forget, lest we become what we dispise. |

God bless you for this, Marilyn. As 'real' as it seems to us, the reader, imagine the reality to the child who lives it. Yes, we need to be the diligent eyes and voice of the innocent children. Love to you, hon. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Oh, Marilyn, more tears for my eyes as another poem bursts through the pain of an unprotected child ----yet, it amazing how the mind can help you continue to be strong. Beautifully done. netswan |
