I Cannot Help But Wonder |

I cannot help but wonder- As I tread the road of life… If there’s ever a cessation, Of the worry and the strife? Is there really any treasure- At the fabled rainbow’s end? Or such a thing as faithfulness In lover, or in friend? I cannot help but wonder- As I traverse tricky slopes… Is there any consolation- Or any end to hopes? Is there pleasure in the offing? Does the grail await my quest? Or does only death and dying- Lie before me in the West? Is there someone there to love me? Someone to call my own? Or only mocking laughter- At a fool who walks alone?
