The Meeting (part1) Flashing past on silver rails Water reflects the glare Gentle rolling side to side The city opens out before me Stepped down into the bright sunshine I thought how appropriate for this day Scanned city skyline and harbor shores As I traveled across that marvelous bridge Left the train, caught my breath Climbed the stairs, slow and deliberate Heart pounding, mind racing Too late now, no turning back Anticipation, apprehension, fear Did you feel it too? Just a little? Only moments away, the moment of truth All would be known with just one look Where? There, across the way On the stairs, was it you? Wow, what a babe! Then you smiled and I knew Uncertainty drifted away Embraced as would old friends Yet, I was filled with excitement That first meeting of someone new Your eyes confirmed that already known A gentle laugh, a look, a smile There could be no doubt now Indeed you were the one I knew Not all those who wander are lost. ~J.R.R. Butterfly, I know I don't have to tell you how much your words mean to me, thankyou. I think that it is possible some things are meant to be. The journey continues and time will tell! Not all those who wander are lost. ~J.R.R. Tolkien |
