Never Trust a Poet |

Don't Trust Poets Once when I was very young and new to the land of love I met this man who wrote such words that sent me to his arms I was not aware of his snake like charms Within two weeks he was wooing another with words that sent her in a tizzy and soon he was her lover One week later bored with his game, he went off for different prey -- So ladies, when they write such words that melt like butter Remember the mighty pen can send your heart aflutter. Do not swoon til you know their tune and how they are really made. Love sick women who have met their inky poison can join in on this crusade. Words are beautiful and spread out thin by many an unfaithful lover - It must be nice to write such words and watch a young girl fall into their wordy web, hearts a pitter patter But beware my dears, it may not be he - Just his mighty pen - a deadly ink poisoned flatterer ------ This is not a fairy tale or anything at all, Just a warning to women who fall for a poet - when he is through you will painfully know it. Oh, and lady poets, I have seen you spin your poison web - taking young impressionable youths and leading them with false exotic words of love -- so this is not just about men that carry the mighty poisoned pen. Women can write like black hearted widows -----and send a man away in heart broken pain. And, no, not all poets write with lies - hiding behind a wolf's disquise -- just beware my dears -- and get to know your talented poet before subcumbing to their charms This is just a little bell - or maybe a loud alarm ~netswan Teresa King www.tipsfortop.com |

NetSwan~ Such a titillating tale. Sent to scare off the wary prey. Seems that such is a covert distraction to draw my attention away. Oh, I'll not fall for such prattle. Nor give up the stake to my claim. Ah, in the heart of a poet, is just where I want to remain. I'll read the ink of many, gladly my heart to give. For in the heart of a poet is just where I want to live. So quill me ! Thrill me ! Splash me with your ink ! Oh, my fateful poet It's better than you think ! *Thanks for the fun ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

netswan; Good Advice, indeed. A thought came to me as I read your lovely poem, what if... the love bug bites one of the folks of whom you spoke, they meet and it is the worst case of "yulks, yipes, what have I done!"; only to return to find your still in love with his/her words! Guess one could always say, I'll be your, only if your write everything down and your back facing me at all times. (chuckle) I dunno', just had that thought to flash as I read your poem. Not in love with them, in love with their words. Oh me, got to get off here, Silly tonight I guess. Really enjoyed the read. marcy |

Happily married I may be, But love to read the pen so free, From men amongst these quiet rooms, Doth make this poet's heart gently swoon! Now, if I could get my hubby to pick up the pen now and again, I'd be in heaven! LOL Best wishes, /Kit |

damn so I might as well become a hermit if everyone who speaks beautiful poetry lies. True it is often the words kept silent that are the most important. Now I am going to paranoid if any women seduces me with poetry, hell I be every surprised if any woman attempts to seduce me LOL. great poem netswan. ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "Libraries gave us power Then work came and made us free What price now for a shallow piece of dignity" Nicky Wire, A design for Life. manic street preachers "Rock 'n' roll is our epiphany Culture, alienation, boredom and despair" "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." Well Netswan what'll happen if both of 'em happen to be poetry geeks. Poetry I feel is a true expression of emotion and if someone misuses it they're to be banned from writing. Sincerely A_L |

Nicely done, Netswan. Even though you didn't mention him by name, I think it is admirable the way you have taken on the responsibility to warn others about LongJohn and his evil ways. You have done a service to the site. |
