This was written awhile back after a disagreement with one of my teenage sons:

You have an attitude
that makes communication
a greater challenge
than it really needs to be.
You have a way of shrugging your shoulders
and giving up
before the battle even begins.

I have a way of knowing when you are giving in, a way of hearing the first notes
of the losers refrain.
I have a way of sensing when you're caving
to the strain.
I have a way of reeling
from the center of the storm.

There are so many quitters
that litter the way
for you to become one is surely a shame,
but I'm not into taking
on more than I can control,
either pick yourself up,
or jump into the black hole.

Thanks for sharing your struggles wih "them".. ahhhh haaa I am not alone (though it feels so)This just hurts so much...
