Distractions of a Lonely Night Distractions of a lonely night at rest, Empty dreams bereft of fascination, This weight of solitude upon my chest, Solely I await emancipation. Then morning breaks in awesome bands of gold, With rising sun a day is newly crowned. A welcomed comforter against the cold, So too my love for you is newly found. To breathe and drink your love once more I dare, Renewed again to eat a lover’s feast, And sated thus, devotion to declare, My lover’s litany each day increased. To shout my love to all that care to hear, My Sweet, she’s everything that I hold dear. [This message has been edited by David2 (edited 06-09-2000).] |

David~ This like all your other pieces is quite lovely. You have showed your heart truly in this one! I enjoyed it very much. Take care and keep up the excellent writing! I absolutely love everything that I have read of yours. I just read them...sigh...and read them again. They have such an easy flow that you could not stop in the middle, even if you had such an absurd desire to do so. A wonderful poem, I can relate to the first half. I know these lonely nights you talk of and you described them perfectly. maybe one day I will be able to relate to the second half. A welcomed comforter against the cold, So too my love for you is newly found. Wow. This is powerful, David. All I can do is sigh... Do you write these to a fantasy lover, or does there exist an actual flesh-and-blood recipient of your poetic outpourings of passion? -emma, who is anxiously awaiting your next installment [This message has been edited by emmalouise (edited 06-10-2000).] |

emma, There definitely does exist a real life recipient of my outpourings of passions. She is the love of my life and the only reason I write. David2 |
