I have two favorite poems 1) "Metamorphosis" 2) "And The Angels Cried," but since I posted Metamorphosis a few weeks a ago, I'll post "And The Angels cried" as my favorite, for sentimental reasons. I wrote it last Christmas for My Mom and of course she cried and cried. Also, the months March and September are used in my poem because March is my Mom's birthday and September is mine. ~AND THE ANGELS CRIED~ And the angels cried once upon a March morn, and the angels rejoiced for, a miracle was born The angels danced merrily all night, and their tears of joy flowed 'til the early morn, and so, God smiled with much delight, the day my angel was born With care, God dressed the meadows in golden wheat and adorned the fields in celebration with yellow corn, for, fruit trees were never quite so sweet, as when my angel was born And, I was an angel watching from above, upon the wind, and among the clouds in the starlit night, and with just the first glance, fell in love with the most breathtaking sight And, asked of God one favour, forevermore, to trade in my wings of gold, to be your child, in your arms to hold For, I had seen the seven wonders of the world, and gazed at many a beautiful sunset upon the ocean blue, for, I had searched the entire world over, but, nothing compared to the loveliness of you And, an angel cried, as she held me tight, in her perfect arms, once upon a September night, when I was born And, my tears of wonder flowed down my newborn cheeks, in sweet surpise, and the angel held my little finger, as I looked up into her lovely hazel eyes For, I have seen the seven wonders of the world, but, nothing as captivating as my angel And, so, the angels cried *By Melissa Honeybee* |

Melissa~ Beautiful, hon. One can easily see why it would bring tears of joy to a mom's eyes. Lovely thoughts. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Melissa, this is so lovely and inspiring to read. thank you for sharing it with us for the challenge. Im sure your mother did cry tears of pride. take care, jm I think I could need - this in my life I think I'm just scared - that I know too much I can't relate and that's a problem I'm feeling ... If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home There's an awful lot of breathing room But I can hardly move If you're gone - baby you need to come home cuz there's a little bit of something me... In everything in you. ~MB20~ "What the caterpillar calls the end ... The world calls a butterfly" ~Lao Tze Tao~ ~Butterflies are meant to be free~ |

Melissa, that was a wonderful tribute to your mother, a beautiful poem, With care, God dressed the meadows in golden wheat and adorned the fields in celebration with yellow corn, for, fruit trees were never quite so sweet, as when my angel was born For, I had seen the seven wonders of the world, and gazed at many a beautiful sunset upon the ocean blue, for, I had searched the entire world over, but, nothing compared to the loveliness of you wonderful. ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. Melissa~ How very sweet! I can see why it touched your mom so--it was beautiful. Elizabeth And this I say to you: why? Why? Just tell me why, so I can understand. Why? |
