Rekindled Dreams

My days of youth were spent in foolish thought,
While dreams of ideal love did fill my head.
My perfect complement with fervor sought,
A mate, a confidante, a matching thread.
But dreams unfed must simply fade and die,
And leave behind an empty lifeless shell.
It’s there I found myself to wonder why,
And wallow in my self constructed hell.
In you, my love, my dreams once more may live,
No angel ever loved me as you do,
Or wanted me enough to freely give
That deepest self that others never knew.

If dream this be then let me not awake,
My life to sleep I’d give for your love’s sake.

man, you are just so good at this...
like second skin and breathing
sonnets run thru you.
this one's emotions are powerful
always enjoy reading these, and no two ever seem the same...
great work D2

I think I could need - this in my life
I think I'm just scared - that I know too much
I can't relate and that's a problem
I'm feeling ...
If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home
There's an awful lot of breathing room
But I can hardly move
If you're gone - baby you need to come home
cuz there's a little bit of something me...
In everything in you.

OH!  I do so love this sonnet!  It gives hope to those of us who as of yet have not found love.  I can't wait to read more of your work.
