We have ritalin in our peanut butter. It's a new flavor: Jif extra smooth. You feel extra level, extra calm. Have you ever felt like a disintegrating bomb? So many thoughts pushing through broken wires They all short in your mouth? We have ritalin in our peanut butter. The white powder is so fine, but bitter Like love snorted through your nose. Bloody nose. Skippy without the chunks, Peter Pan, let me grow up! It tastes like roses and throw up. We have ritalin in our peanut butter And life has never seemed so bright. Medicated cages to enact the proper reaction. Please tell us, mommy, How to act and perform. Give us the proper snackfood to conform. I don't want to be warned, Don't want to know what your friends think. Just stick ritalin in my peanut butter; It's less expensive than a shrink. |

take a happy pill and you will feel better, take one to speed you up when your run down, take another to help you sleep, the next day take another round. true commentary...seems its easier to take a pill than to find out whats really wrong... life in the fast lane... wise and witty writing my friend... NOW GIDDY at so many posts from you -- Im off to the next one ![]() later gator bs/jm |

JM, Glad you enjoyed. This one was inspired by a conversation I overheard at work -- a really nasty editor yelling at her kid on the phone (real morale raising!), followed by her talking to her friend after slamming down the phone that she needs to start putting ritalin in the kid's peanut butter. I loved that phrase so much I had to use it in a poem, and since my brother has severe ADD (he's a great kid, tho! ![]() People always like the easy way out. That's why we're always "in pursuit of happiness." We want to feel good all the time. Who wants to reflect? Who wants to deal with life's messages in a mature way when they come alone? Just pop down some pills, f___ your troubles away, and try not to think about the side effects (I'm sure there's pills for those, too -- until you're basically ingesting the rainbow ![]() And as to why I have so many posts today: c'mon, I gotta do SOMETHING constructive with my weekend. ![]() Later, butterflyslippers.
