In Your Eyes In your eyes... I see hurt buried deep inside. I feel the pain in your heart And see it devestate you, An inner Tornado. I see you in tears... The memories of happy days gone by Running down your face. A flash-flood of grief and misery, Drowning you in Desolation. Yet... You return hatred with love. Contempt with respect: The one who pushed you away is rewarded. With your unconditional love. I understand... Your intense thoughts and feelings, Your intricate pattern of emotion, Your tangled web of life: I know why you are the way you are. I know.. Your every feeling And why you feel the way you do: For you are my reflection. We are one. Your eyes are the mirrors to my soul. ----------------------------------------------------- "Poetry is the true expression of my soul, it is my ultimate means of communication. It is my rainbow of delight." |

I know.. Your every feeling And why you feel the way you do: For you are my reflection. We are one. Your eyes are the mirrors to my soul. Eyes can communicate in ways that words never could. a lovely poem, In your eyes... I see hurt buried deep inside. I feel the pain in your heart And see it devestate you, An inner Tornado. I see you in tears... The memories of happy days gone by Running down your face. A flash-flood of grief and misery, Drowning you in Desolation. a great poem especially the first two verses. ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. ESP, I really like this one! I am new to this site and hope to read many more excellent poems from you and the others. This one really touched me for some reason. If you started off this good, I can't wait to read the ones you have written since. I wish I had kept all of the poems I have written over the years.  I found one from 1981 (I was 15) inspired when my girlfriend broke my heart. It is no where close to the poems submitted for this challenge. It really lacks in quality and depth, but it was a stepping stone along the path to poetic creativity. But what do you expect form a hormone ridden teenager! Best wishes, Poetaster D |
