I walk A languid slowish pace Through meadows Rolling vibrant greens To see what far beyond My sight to see What hidden lies Just over There There There I see What love my heart cries To beat, in tickled strains Of cottonwood And joyous hues of Springs first virgin daffodil I know to feel Embrace the sweet of Clover pressed to Softened lips Breathe Breathe Breathe in the Roiling tepid air In scented measures of Dirt and richly fertile soil To hold in weakened Hands, the time too Quickly past – lost To the winds, as they whip These dreams from Futile grasp, and I Cry Cry Cry out to happiness This long forgotten goal As the sun beats down In rays of hope To keep up – going Calling And I gaze in deep To bluest skies e’en through cloudy haze With sightless eyes to see With all I am and have The truth that Hides Hides Hides beneath the Tears long since cried |

Stunningly beautiful. But in the same sense, deeply sorrowful. My favorite kind of poetry...lovely words here, I enjoyed it greatly! *Krista Knutson* "Thought is real, physical is the illusion..." Albert from ~What Dreams May Come~ |

For a lady who claims no mastery of verse, much less free verse, you have that touch. You've painted an eloquent picture here Nic. I'm breathless. Again. |
