Missing you, now that you've gone. Gone on to a better place. You and I we flew so high, together forever. I thought you were mine until the day you died. You told me you loved me as you lay dying. Wanting no more than to hold you, keep you safe in my arms. Missing you, now that you're gone. Memories come on like a flood. The tears stream down my face, as the first shovelful of dirt is dropped. You were my world, my soul, my joy. All I gave to you was my heart. Holding on to the dreams we had, praying for a chance to show you I can. Wishing you hadn't died so soon, there was so much we wanted to do. Build a house, raise a family, travel the world, and live in peace. ~Epoet,...I know that I've already replied to this but I came back to read it again...and it's still just as powerfully gripping as the first time. aimster and spitfire thank you very much. It was very hard to write this but it helped me close a sad part of my life. for more of my poetry check out the corner pub and critical analysis. This one touches my heart, as someone I love is very ill right now...when I read this I can't help think of how it will feel if he is no longer here. Thank you for sharing your heart in this piece. |
