(For Michael) You spin your verse of angel's grace, of Joy in human guise – And I, the most unworthy sight that greets your loving eyes Can only wonder what they see – what angle unexplored By me reveals a vision that could be by you adored? I claim no ken to seraphim, and yet your poet's lyre Entreats me sing, as though my voice could shame the Heaven's choir; I fear the heights that you ascribe, lest I from grace should fall – But my reluctance to ascend dissuades you not at all; But only lends you sweeter voice, and doubly draped in love, A hymn that I can only pray to be deserving of ... But if an Angel you desire, despite what doubting brings, Then Angel I shall surely be, or die in search of wings. < !signature--> Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest [This message has been edited by Skyfyre (edited 06-02-2000).] |

Oh girl...this is probably the most beautiful thing I've read of yours...I loved the last two lines. What an exquisite way to wrap up a beautifully longing verse. Bravissimo! You will find your wings... Chin up! "Fantasies enrich our lives to the fullest, but true satisfaction comes from creating your own story in the real world! Beautiful and sweet. Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau" |

Skyfyre~ I've not seen a lovelier, lilting poem. It has an air of softness about it that makes it truly beautiful. Positively wonderful, fair poetess. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

(for Kess and M,) For too long now you've laid in darkness bleeding ... to life's pain your heart conceding. 'Tis true all things happen for a reason, but not all will end in vain--lost to fate's treason. Comes a time to write a new poem, a magic, mystic, verse ... time to compose a happy ending and free you from this curse. Seek your own reflection in an angels eyes of understanding, then touch the love your hearts and souls are now demanding. Find no shame in fear of falling, tho let not hesitation close your eyes, to love's light no longer blinded, ascend to where your future lies. Destiny's winds call your names--love grants your hearts their wings to fly. 'Tis time to rise up ... time to kiss the moon and touch the sky. jm There are places inside our souls ... that have never been touched. There are places inside our hearts ... that need to be loved this much. ~Janet Marie~ "What the caterpillar calls the end ... The world calls a butterfly" ~Lao Tze Tao~ ~Butterflies are meant to be free~ |

Angel I would not have asked for, Nor dreamed to ever find. Floating within the wiles of heart, Or soft across the mind. But, oh, what vision holds me now, Much to my own surprise... Seems only heaven could bestow Such beauty ‘pon the eyes. ‘Tis not of heights I hold you to, My feet are on the ground. ‘Tis but the little things you do Speaking "love" with no sound. There is no room for doubting here, Nor chance that one may fall. For, Love, before I held you near, I'd not known love at all. In all you've given unto me, In all I so adore... Within my heart know you shall be An angel evermore. Michael |

Michael, there are no words that can express how your reply made me feel. As such, "thank you" will have to suffice ... Everyone else, my thanks as well, and my apologies for its brevity ... this has been a bit of a whirlwind experience for me, and I am yet catching my breath ... --Me |
